Here's a list of a few noteable events taking place:
- The Navan Fair | 1279 Colonial Rd, Navan (Ottawa East): running from August 9 to 12th this great country fair has been a family tradition for many since its launch in 1946. Admission is farely inexpensive and passes are available. You can enjoy live entertainment all weekend long; from Midway games & rides, to the demolition derbies, a visit from Little Ray's Reptiles and many agricultural displays and livestock competitions, there's something for everyone! - Sound of Lights | Canadian Museum of History: every year this one is a hit! Spend five incredible evenings enjoying some of the best firework shows you've ever seen! Some of the worlds best teams from Spain, Germany, China and the USA are in the city to showcase their most spectacular displays of light and sound. This event started August 4th and runs through August 18th with shows on the Wednesday and Saturday and the Grand Finale on the 18th. For more information on admission click here.
- Ottawa REDBLACKS | TD Place at Landsdown: after two weeks on the road, your REDBLACKS are coming home to play the Montreal Alouettes this Saturday August 11th at 8PM. Football fans in Ottawa are pretty pumped about them being seated 1st in the East Division so far! - The Ottawa Greek Festival | 1315 Prince of Wales Drive: having just gotten underway, the Ottawa Greek Fest is an annual even that features live Greek music, traditional dances, delicious food, cooking demonstrations, crafts, cultural exhibits and more! Admission is free and every day there will be home cooked Greek dishes served fresh and available to eat on site or take orders to go! Join them anytime between August 9 to 19th and experience what has made this festival so great for the past 43 years!
